How Tems and Ayra Starr Surpass Fela, Wizkid, and Burna Boy in Achievements – Odumodublvck

Controversial rapper Odumodublvck has claimed that female artists Tems and Ayra Starr have achieved more in the Nigerian music industry than Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and Afrobeats superstars Wizkid and Burna Boy. In a recent episode of the ‘Cocktails & Takeaways’ podcast with Madame Joyce, Odumodublvck argued that being a successful female artist is the most challenging job in the world.
He emphasized that female artists often face sexual harassment from producers, promoters, and other artists, which adds an extra layer of difficulty to their careers. “When I was coming to London, I was on the same flight with Tems’ manager, Don Awon. I told Tems, ‘Big up, you did it. What you and Ayra Starr have accomplished is bigger than anything Wizkid, Burna Boy, and even Fela have done. Quote me anywhere,” he stated.
Odumodublvck continued, “Out of every 10 show promoters, 5 want to have sex with female artists. The same goes for producers and fellow artists they look up to for help. I can’t imagine being in that situation. And despite these challenges, they still create great music. Remember, the hardest job in the world is being a woman.
“The second hardest job is being an artist. With over 100 million artists worldwide, how do you stand out among the thousands of songs released daily? There’s no guaranteed payment in this industry; you have to make it before people start paying you. It took me six years to get my first decent paycheck. So imagine being both a woman and an artist, and still making it. That’s impressive.”
