How Trafficker of Underage Girls is Caught – Abike Dabiri
In a significant breakthrough, Abike Dabiri, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, announced the capture of a trafficker involved in smuggling underage girls to Ghana.
The arrest was made possible through the efforts of Chief Callistus, the Chairman of Nido Ghana. The trafficker is set to face legal action in Ghana next week.
Abike Dabiri expressed her gratitude towards Chief Callistus for his role in the apprehension. In a tweet, she described the rescue mission as “heartbreaking,” highlighting the plight of the young girls trafficked to Ghana for prostitution.
Furthermore, additional groups of trafficked girls have been rescued in Ghana, with plans underway to return them to Nigeria. Dabiri emphasized that the rescued girls will be repatriated soon and praised the cooperation between Nigerian and Ghanaian authorities in tackling human trafficking.
This swift action underscores the dedication of both countries to protect the rights and welfare of those affected by such heinous crimes.
