IGP Egbetokun Set to Honor Promoted Officers, National Award Recipients

According to a statement from the Force Public Relations Department, the decoration ceremony will serve not only as a celebration of individual achievements but also as a reinforcement of the professional standards and values expected of police officers across the country.
IGP Egbetokun, known for his reform-oriented leadership style, emphasized that the event is more than ceremonial. “It is a moment to showcase the strength and quality of leadership that exists within the ranks of our officers. Promotion and national honors are not just acknowledgments of past efforts, but also calls to greater responsibility and service,” he stated.
The officers slated for decoration include those who have demonstrated exceptional bravery, leadership, and commitment to duty. Among them are individuals recently promoted through the recommendation of the Police Service Commission and those honored with national awards for outstanding contributions to security and community service.
The IGP is also expected to use the occasion to reiterate the Force’s renewed vision of professionalism, transparency, and citizen-focused policing. He has continuously maintained that reward and recognition remain crucial tools in boosting morale and enhancing performance within the police force.
“This ceremony serves as a reminder that excellence is noticed, and sacrifice is appreciated,” the IGP added. “We must continue to build a Force that is not only respected for its authority but also admired for its integrity and service to the people.”
Dignitaries from government, the military, and civil society are expected to grace the event, underscoring the collaborative role of stakeholders in building a more effective and accountable security system.
As anticipation builds for the ceremony, the message is clear: under IGP Egbetokun’s leadership, the Nigeria Police Force is embracing a culture of merit, motivation, and meaningful rec
