Lightning Strike Claims Two Lives in Lagos
Two women tragically lost their lives when lightning struck in the FESTAC area of Lagos State. The incident was reported by Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police spokesman, on his Twitter handle, @benHundeyin, on Saturday.
The fatal lightning strike occurred during a rainstorm on Friday. According to Hundeyin, the women were sheltering indoors on First Avenue, FESTAC, when lightning struck, electrocuting them instantly and sparking a fire.
He noted that the women lived in a makeshift structure situated beneath high-voltage power lines. Hundeyin expressed his condolences, praying for the peaceful repose of their souls.
