Man Arrested for Theft of Air Conditioners and Cables in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command announced on Friday that they have arrested 31-year-old Lekan Ogunsanya for allegedly vandalizing and stealing air conditioners and cables from a government residential quarter in Isoso, Sagamu Local Government Area.
According to reports, Ogunsanya was caught in the act on Thursday around noon while he was removing air conditioners from two houses in the area. The arrest followed a resident’s tip-off, who observed Ogunsanya’s suspicious activities and alerted others, leading to his apprehension.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed that Ogunsanya had broken into two homes within the quarters, where he began dismantling cables and air conditioners. Local security guards and police officers quickly responded to the report, leading to Ogunsanya’s arrest. All stolen items were recovered and are being held as evidence.
In related news, on June 11, 2024, two individuals, Tobi Shonibare and Odusanya Oni, were also arrested for allegedly stealing electric cables worth about N650,000 in the Isonyin community, Ijebu North-East LG. They confessed to the crime and are now facing charges in court.
