‘More Driven Than Ever at 41’: Hamilton Fires Warning as Ferrari Revival Gains Momentum

Lewis Hamilton has declared that age is no barrier to ambition, insisting he is “more committed than ever” to Formula One as he continues to find his rhythm with Ferrari in the early stages of the 2026 season.
The seven-time world champion, now 41, appears revitalised following a difficult debut campaign with the Italian team. After two races this season, Hamilton sits fourth in the drivers’ standings, closing the gap on early leader George Russell of Mercedes.
His resurgence was underlined in Shanghai, where he clinched his first podium finish for Ferrari a performance that, as highlighted by Sky Sports F1, signalled a clear turnaround from last year’s struggles.
Speaking ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, Hamilton pointed to an intense personal training routine as a key factor behind his renewed competitiveness. The British driver revealed he had logged extensive mileage during a recent stay in Tokyo, emphasising his relentless work ethic.
“I’ve been pushing myself hard , I don’t think anyone else is training at the level I am right now,” he said, reinforcing his belief that dedication remains his greatest advantage.
According to reports from ESPN, Hamilton even joked about returning from early morning runs just as some of his rivals were beginning their day, a reflection of the discipline he believes sets him apart in the twilight of his career.
The renewed energy marks a sharp contrast to his first season with Ferrari, where inconsistent performances and early qualifying exits raised questions about his transition. However, changes in car design and race dynamics this season have played into his hands, allowing for more wheel-to-wheel battles something Hamilton clearly relishes.
His recent duel with teammate Charles Leclerc in China showcased that fighting spirit, with the Briton emerging ahead after a gripping contest. He described the experience as a reminder of what Formula One should be competitive, unpredictable, and fiercely contested.
As noted by Motorsport.com, the evolving race conditions this season have created opportunities for experienced drivers like Hamilton to leverage racecraft alongside speed.
With momentum building and confidence restored, Hamilton’s message to the grid is unmistakable: even at 41, he is far from done and perhaps more dangerous than ever.
