Multiple Injuries Reported in Collision Between Two BRT Buses in Lagos

Several passengers sustained injuries following a collision between two Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses in Lagos late Tuesday night. The accident took place on the BRT lane of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, near Danco Filling Station in the Iyana Ipaja area.
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) via a post on X, the injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Nosa Okunbor, head of the public affairs unit at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), reported that the collision occurred when a BRT bus, trying to avoid hitting a commercial motorcyclist who was illegally traveling in the BRT lane, collided with an oncoming BRT bus.
Okunbor confirmed that no fatalities resulted from the incident. However, passengers on both buses experienced varying degrees of injury and were taken to the nearest hospital prior to the arrival of the emergency response team.
In response, two tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged buses from the scene.
