Oba Ladoja Urges Oyo Indigenes to Take Advantage of Ongoing Nationwide Police Recruitment
A prominent traditional ruler in Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, has called on indigenes of the state to actively participate in the ongoing nationwide recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force.
Oba Ladoja made the appeal while addressing community leaders and youth groups, stressing the importance of increased representation of Oyo indigenes within the nation’s security architecture. According to him, the recruitment exercise presents a valuable opportunity for young people to contribute meaningfully to national development while securing stable employment.
The monarch emphasized that the role of the police in maintaining law and order cannot be overstated, especially at a time when the country continues to grapple with various security challenges. He noted that having more recruits from Oyo would not only enhance local intelligence gathering but also strengthen trust between law enforcement and communities.
Oba Ladoja urged eligible youths to ensure they meet all the requirements outlined by the police authorities and to approach the recruitment process with integrity. He cautioned against falling victim to fraudsters, reiterating that the exercise is free, transparent, and merit-based.
He further encouraged community leaders and parents to support and motivate young people to seize the opportunity, describing it as a pathway to both personal growth and public service. He added that discipline, patriotism, and commitment are essential qualities expected of prospective officers.
The ongoing recruitment drive by the Nigeria Police Force is part of broader efforts by the federal government to boost manpower and improve the effectiveness of policing across the country. Authorities have repeatedly assured Nigerians that the process will be conducted fairly, with equal opportunities for candidates from all states.
Oba Ladoja concluded by expressing optimism that Oyo State would record a strong turnout of qualified applicants, ultimately contributing to a safer and more secure society.
