Ondo 2024: Ganduje Asserts APC Will Win Without Rigging
Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), confidently stated that the party will triumph in the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State without resorting to manipulation.
During a visit to Akure for the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council, led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ganduje pointed to the accomplishments of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as key to securing victory.
In response to allegations from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) claiming the APC plans to rig the election, Ganduje asserted that the party’s success will stem from a fair electoral process. He highlighted that with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu hailing from the region, the APC has a strong foundation for victory.
Ganduje emphasized, “For unity, the people must rally behind the APC. This election will be free and fair; we will succeed through democratic channels. We commend the reforms initiated by Aiyedatiwa, and we urge him to continue the progressive projects he has started.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa echoed these sentiments, stating that his administration’s people-centered initiatives would resonate with voters. “We have engaged with the community directly, and we are dedicated to ensuring a peaceful, credible election where every vote counts. By the grace of God, we will celebrate our victory on November 16, 2024.”
Aiyedatiwa outlined his government’s accomplishments over the past ten months, underscoring the need to continue the legacy of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. He detailed efforts in infrastructure development, agricultural enhancement, job creation, and security improvements.
“In the last ten months, we have prioritized building and renewing public utilities, enhancing agricultural productivity, and supporting youth development,” he said. “Our administration has activated the construction of over 70 kilometers of rural roads to connect farm settlements, along with new city roads and ongoing infrastructure projects.”
Aiyedatiwa also highlighted the well-being of government employees, noting that salaries are paid on time and that there are no outstanding debts. He announced plans to recruit around 2,000 teachers and detailed initiatives providing financial support and resources to local entrepreneurs and farmers.
Among those present at the campaign council’s inauguration were notable figures such as former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and APC National Secretary Senator
Ajibola Basiru.
