Osun State Amotekun Office Now a ‘Den of Murderers– Sen. Francis Fadahunsi Declares

The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, has said he was behind the sealing of Osun Amotekun operational base in Osogbo and Ife.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that some police officers from the Intelligence Response Team, Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Wednesday, stormed the operation base of Osun Amotekun Corps in Oke-Fia and Ile-Ife and arrested 20 personnel of the corps over the killings at Akinlalu community.
It would be recalled that residents of Akinlalu, a community in Ife-North Local Government had alleged operatives of Osun Amotekun of storming the town and killing four people.
Also, the Osun State Police Command said the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has taken over the case.
The command also said five people have been arrested in connection with the killings in the community.
Speaking with newsmen, Fadahunsi confirmed that he was behind the sealing of the Amotekun offices, adding that the place has become the home of ‘murderers’.
The lawmaker said the security outfit has lost its purpose, noting that Amotekun was to protect the territorial integrity of the state and not terrorise the residents.
He further stated that 12 people have allegedly been killed by Amotekun personnel in Ife/Ijesa senatorial district in the last 10 months, adding that he can no longer keep quiet while his people are being killed.
He said, “The Amotekun office has become the home of murderers, not protecting the community. The Amotekun officers are disturbing the peace of the state.
