Police Raid Criminal Hideouts, Arrest 85 Suspects in Jigawa
In a series of raids, police in Jigawa State have apprehended 85 suspects from various criminal hideouts. The operation was confirmed by police spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam in a statement released on Tuesday.
The arrests were made following coordinated raids in Dutse, Kazaure, Taura, Sara, and Maigatari local government areas.
“From May 1st to May 15th, 2024, Jigawa Police conducted operations at several known criminal hotspots within Dutse, Kazaure, Taura, Sara, and Maigatari Divisional Police Headquarters,” Adam stated. “During these raids, 85 suspects were detained along with various illegal items.”
The confiscated items include four blocks and 258 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 150 pieces of D5 tablets, 40 pieces of Tramadol tablets, 42 bottles of the substance known as “soak and die,” four packets and 37 pieces of rubber solutions, and 29 pieces of Exol tablets.
Adam added that the suspects will be charged in court following the completion of investigations.
