See How Troops Recover Rifle, Ammunition in Plateau Forest

Troops of 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN have recovered an AK-47 rifle, magazine, and ammunition hidden by suspected bandits in Pandam Forest, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Nigerian Army, in a statement on Tuesday, said the operation was carried out at about 1:20 p.m. on June 3, following credible intelligence indicating that the bandits had concealed weapons in the forest due to sustained pressure from troops engaged in the ongoing Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A.
“During the search, troops discovered a freshly dug area, which was immediately excavated,” the statement said. “They recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and 30 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, all carefully concealed.”
The Army said the recovered items were in troop custody for further action, adding that operations were ongoing in the area to uncover other possible arms caches.
It noted that the recovery was part of continued efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of action and restore lasting peace in the region.
