See Jail Term Man that impersonate EFCC Operatives was Sentenced to

Two individuals have been sentenced to a combined 46 years in prison for impersonating Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives in Lagos. Justice O.O. Abike-Fadipe of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja handed down the sentence to Ugwu Pascal Chijioke and Ibrahim Sadiq Adekunle.

Justice Abike-Fadipe convicted Chijioke and Adekunle on all five counts. Each defendant received seven years for each of the first three counts, one year for the fourth count, and eight months for the fifth count, all to run concurrently.

The defendants were apprehended in May 2021 during an illegal operation at New Horizon Estate, Lekki, following credible intelligence. Items seized included fake EFCC ID cards, jackets, and a counterfeit court order from the Mushin Magistrate Court.

Initially, Chijioke and Adekunle pleaded not guilty when first arraigned on October 12, 2021, but later changed their p
