See Number of People Killed in Ogun State Truck and Tricycle Collision

In Ogun State, a tragic accident resulted in the deaths of two individuals, a grandmother and her granddaughter, just a day after another truck-related incident in the Lafenwa area. The collision occurred early Friday morning in the Papalanto area.
According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesman for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), the crash involved an Iveco truck (plate number KJA 166 XJ) and a tricycle (plate number TRE 627 VP). The accident was caused by the truck driver’s reckless maneuvering.
Akinbiyi reported that the truck, attempting to overtake the tricycle while traveling towards Abeokuta, collided with it, dragging the tricycle and causing it to fall before being run over. Both victims, who were the only occupants of the tricycle, were killed on the spot. The truck driver fled the scene before being apprehended.
TRACE has confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were returned to their families. The injured tricycle driver was taken to an undisclosed hospital by a passerby. The wrecked vehicles have been impounded by the Itori Divisional Police Command.
Akinbiyi urged motorists to avoid reckless driving to prevent similar tragedies and emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic safety re
gulations.
