The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its Ilorin Zonal Command, has apprehended 49 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State.

The arrests were made over the weekend of May 24 and 25, 2025, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to various cybercrime activities. EFCC operatives carried out coordinated raids on several locations across the city as part of the operation.
During the bust, a loaded, unregistered pistol was discovered in the possession of one suspect, who allegedly confessed to having been involved in cult-related activities. The raids also yielded items such as premium smartphones, laptop computers, and two high-end vehicles.
The suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution upon the completion of ongoing investigations.
