See the Numbers of Kwara Pilgrims Reported Dead In Saudi Arabia, Board Mourns

Two pilgrims from Kwara State, Salihu Mohammed and Hawawu Mohammed, have been reported dead in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims’ Board, AbdulSalam AbdulKabir, disclosed these tragic events in a statement released yesterday.

According to the statement, Salihu Mohammed passed away in the intensive care unit of a public hospital in Medina after a sudden illness. Hawawu Mohammed, on the other hand, died in what Saudi authorities have determined to be a suicide, from the rooftop of her apartment in Medina.

The statement from the board reads: “The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board expresses heartfelt condolences to the families of our two pilgrims who passed away in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Salihu Mohammed, who traveled with Batch 3, succumbed to a sudden illness in an intensive care unit of a public hospital in Medina. Hajia Hawawu Mohammed (Batch 9) tragically died following an incident that Saudi authorities have investigated and classified as a suicide from the rooftop of her apartment in Medina.

The Pilgrims’ Board deeply regrets these losses but submits to Allah’s will and ultimate wisdom in all matters. We extend our sincere sympathies to their families and pray that Allah grants them peace and forgiveness for the deceased.”
