See The Numbers of People That Died, Injured in Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Road Accident
A tragic accident along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Road resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others.
The collision, which occurred around 11:28 am on Sunday, involved an Ash Howo truck without a registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry with registration number APP478FS.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed the incident to journalists in Abeokuta. The FRSC Zebra 50 team from the Ijebu Ode Unit Command conducted the rescue operation.
Okpe attributed the accident to overspeeding and loss of control, leading to the collision.
“The crash involved two vehicles: an Ash Howo truck with no registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry car with registration number APP478FS. Five people were involved in the crash, including one male adult and four female adults. Two people, one male and one female, were killed, while three females were injured,” Okpe stated.
The injured were taken to General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, and the deceased were transported to the morgue.
Sector Commander CC Anthony Uga expressed condolences to the victims’ families and urged motorists to avoid overspeeding and remain attentive while driving.
