The Enforcement Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has impounded 56 vehicles due to violations like illegal parking and passenger solicitation in key areas known for heavy traffic congestion.
The operations targeted locations such as Agege Motor Road, Oshodi-Apapa, Third Mainland Bridge, and Lagos Island. According to a ministry statement, the vehicles were confiscated in areas including Oworonshoki, Obalende, and Lewis-Obalende Street.
“Adhering to traffic regulations is not just a legal requirement; it’s vital for protecting lives and ensuring the smooth flow of people and goods throughout the city,” said spokesperson Osiyemi.
Offenders will face legal repercussions in accordance with traffic laws. The Ministry also urged residents to support efforts to alleviate traffic gridlock and maintain order on Lagos roads, emphasizing the importance of compliance with traffic regulations.
“Let’s collaborate for a safer Lagos,” Osiyemi concluded.
