**Nigeria’s Crude Oil Production Declines to 1.25 Million Barrels Per Day**
In May, Nigeria’s crude oil production fell to a new low of 1.25 million barrels per day, as reported by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). According to OPEC’s June report on the global oil market, this represents a 2.34% decrease from the 1.28 million barrels per day recorded in April.
OPEC’s data was obtained through direct communications with Nigerian officials. The organization gathers information on crude oil production from two primary sources: direct communication with member countries and secondary sources, such as energy intelligence platforms.
The report further indicated that Nigeria’s production levels were at 1.3 million barrels per day at the end of the fourth quarter of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.
