Shehu Sani Condemn DSS Raid on SERAP Office

Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has condemned the Department of State Services’ (DSS) recent raid on the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project’s (SERAP) Abuja office. SERAP alerted the public via its official X account on Monday, reporting that DSS agents had taken control of their office.
SERAP has called on President Tinubu to instruct the DSS to halt its alleged harassment and infringement on citizens’ rights.
In response, Sani expressed deep concern over the incident in a post on his official X account, emphasizing that security agencies must uphold the fundamental rights of organizations and their members as enshrined in the constitution.
Amnesty International has also criticized the invasion, accusing President Tinubu of overstepping by targeting SERAP. The organization denounced the raid as an attempt to stifle dissent, asserting that such actions represent an extreme measure by the current administration to suppress opposing voices.
