Shehu Sani’s Warning: Dangote Isn’t Your ‘Father Christmas’ for Cheap Fuel He is a Businessman

Former Senator Shehu Sani has urged Nigerians not to expect the Dangote Refinery to act as a ‘Santa Claus’ for affordable petrol. His comments follow a statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) clarifying that the price of petroleum products, including those from Dangote Refinery, is subject to global market forces.
In a social media post, Sani emphasized that Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, is a businessman focused on profit rather than charity. He stressed that the NNPCL remains crucial to Nigeria’s energy sector stability and future.
“Dangote is a businessman, not a provider of fuel charity,” Sani said. “Don’t expect him to be your ‘Father Christmas’ for petrol. The NNPCL holds the key to the stability and future of Nigeria’s energy sector. Avoid the false hope of expecting free handouts from Aliko.”
