Tinubu is Aware of Hardships, Says SGF Akume

President Bola Tinubu
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, on Monday, conveyed that President Bola Tinubu is fully aware of the tough economic situation currently facing Nigeria.
Akume made this statement while representing President Tinubu at a birthday service for Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, who turned 70.
During his address at the event held at The Citadel on Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos, Akume acknowledged the economic hardships affecting Nigerians, assuring them that the country is on the path to recovery.
“The President recognizes the challenges many are facing,” Akume stated, “but he believes there is light at the end of the tunnel. Solutions to complex problems take time, but we are moving in the right direction.”
His remarks come amid ongoing economic reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the liberalization of the Naira, which the government has defended as necessary measures to rejuvenate the nation’s economy.
At the event, Akume, speaking on behalf of President Tinubu, praised Pastor Bakare as a true man of God, highlighting his dedication to justice and righteousness.
“Pastor Bakare, known affectionately as P.T.B., has been a beacon of hope for the voiceless and a strong advocate for truth in our society,” Akume said. “His influence extends far beyond his church, impacting the nation in profound ways.”
Tinubu further described Bakare’s lifelong service as a testament to his integrity and commitment to transparency. “Your powerful messages and fearless advocacy for truth and justice have touched countless lives,” the President added.
The celebration was attended by several dignitaries, including the governors of Lagos and Ogun states, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, who joined in honoring Bakare’s remarkable spiritual leadership and political contributions to the country.
