Tinubu Will Lose Even If He Appoints His Son As INEC Chairman – Former Minister, Solomon Dalung

Dalung Predicts Tinubu’s Defeat in 2027, Criticizes Governance Approach

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has expressed strong doubts about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chances of securing re-election in the 2027 general elections. He suggested that even extraordinary measures, such as appointing close family members to key electoral and judicial positions, would not guarantee electoral success for the president.

Dalung made these remarks during an interview on News Central on Friday night, where he criticized the current administration’s handling of national issues.

“Even if all 36 state governors defect to the APC, and the president appoints his son, Seyi Tinubu, as chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and his wife as Chief Justice of Nigeria, they will still be defeated in 2027,” Dalung said.

He described the upcoming election as a critical showdown between the Nigerian people and the current administration, accusing the government of exacerbating poverty and hardship.

“The government has weaponized poverty, hunger, and economic hardship against its citizens,” he said. “Nigerians must begin to prepare for 2027. The battle line has been drawn, and it is now up to the people to unite and respond through the ballot.”

Dalung also voiced support for a coalition movement aimed at challenging the current political establishment, urging citizens to rally around efforts to demand change in the next electoral cycle.
