UPDATE: How Two Men Die After Falling Into Diesel Reservoir in Lagos

Two men have tragically lost their lives after falling into a diesel reservoir during an industrial accident in the Ikosi Oregun area of Lagos State. The incident occurred on Saturday morning.

Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the deaths in a statement, explaining that despite rescue efforts, both men succumbed to their injuries.
“The two men, who were initially rescued and given medical aid by the LASEMA Response Team, were rushed to the hospital after being resuscitated. Unfortunately, despite intensive medical intervention, they both passed away. The operation has now concluded,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
Earlier, it was reported that the agency had responded to an emergency call at 10:37 a.m. through the state’s toll-free 767/112 lines. Preliminary investigations suggested that one of the men fell into the diesel tank while working, and the second man fell in while trying to rescue him. Both victims suffered severe injuries.
LASEMA and Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) teams provided first aid, including CPR, at the scene before transporting the men to the hospital. Additional teams from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and LASAMBUS secured the area and carried out a thorough assessment to prevent similar incidents in the future.
