Why there is No Room for Betta Edu in Tinubu’s Cabinet – Bayo Onanuga

The presidency has confirmed that former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Betta Edu, will not be returning to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
Edu was suspended on January 8 amid significant public outcry regarding an alleged N585 million scandal. Prior to the recent cabinet reshuffle, there were rumors that she might make a comeback.
However, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, stated on Sunday, “Betta Edu is no longer part of this administration.” He added that her position has been filled by a new appointee from Plateau State.
“Betta Edu is gone. Her role has been assigned to someone from Plateau State. In this government, there is no place for her,” Onanuga emphasized.
He also mentioned that while the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not disclosed its findings, the president’s actions suggest that the commission likely provided evidence that supported her suspension. Onanuga made these comments during an interview with Channels TV.
