You Dropped Out of University — Wike Blasts Ohanaeze President-General

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has strongly criticised the President-General of Ohanaeze, John Mbata, over comments in which he reportedly described him as a semi-illiterate.
Speaking on Friday in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA) Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike dismissed the remark and questioned Mbata’s academic record. He alleged that the Ohanaeze leader did not complete his law programme at Rivers State University.
Wike contrasted this with his own educational and professional background, stating that he graduated from the University of Port Harcourt and later attended Rivers State University, where he studied law before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School. He added that he is currently a Life Bencher.
The FCT minister further pointed out that he is a recipient of Nigeria’s fourth-highest national honour, insisting that the label of semi-illiterate does not reflect his achievements.
“Someone who couldn’t complete his law degree is calling me a semi-illiterate,” Wike said. “I finished my studies, went to law school, and today I am a Life Bencher. The so-called semi-illiterate holds the fourth-highest national award in this country.”
Wike’s comments were made in response to Mbata’s earlier criticism and have added to the growing public exchange between the two political figures.
