EFCC Drops Naira Abuse Charges Against Cubana Chief Priest
The Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed the Naira abuse case against Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, following a request by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to withdraw the suit.
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, the decision came after both the EFCC and the defense agreed to pursue a settlement.
During the court session on May 2, defense attorney Mr. Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN) informed the court of ongoing settlement discussions, leading to an adjournment until June 5 for a settlement report.
However, on June 5, the defense requested another adjournment, and the court rescheduled the case for mention on June 25.
Cubana Chief Priest was accused of violating the Central Bank Act of 2007 by tampering with N500 notes during a social event. He was initially arraigned on April 17 on three charges related to Naira abuse.
