How Lawmaker Marries Off 105 Orphaned Girls in Zamfara State

Abdul Malik Zubairu, a federal lawmaker representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, has facilitated the marriage of 105 orphaned girls whose parents were killed by bandits.Â

The grand ceremony took place on Saturday in Bungudu town, the headquarters of Bungudu Local Government Area, and was attended by numerous prominent figures from within and outside the state.

The brides and grooms were elegantly dressed, drawing the attention of thousands who attended the event.

In addition to organizing the marriages, Zubairu provided beds and bedding materials for the newlyweds, along with N10.5 million paid as dowry for the 105 brides.

Moreover, Zubairu supported the newly married couples financially by giving N100,000 to each of the 105 bridegrooms and N50,000 to each of the 105 brides to help them start businesses of their choice.
