29-Year-Old Admits to Killing Father Due to Deep-Seated Hatred
A 29-year-old named Mizanmil Abubakar has admitted to killing his father out of intense animosity. The incident occurred in the Barin-Sale neighborhood of Minna, Niger State’s capital.
On July 30, 2024, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Public Relations Officer for the Niger State Police Command, revealed the details of the case. The Kpakungu Police Division was alerted on July 29 around 10 a.m. about the disappearance of 65-year-old Abubakar Adawa from his home in Barin-Sale.
The police, led by the Division’s DPO, visited the residence and questioned Mizanmil Abubakar, 29, and his mother, Aisha Abubakar. During a thorough search of the property, they found Abubakar Adawa’s dismembered body buried in a shallow grave on the premises.
During interrogation, Mizanmil Abubakar confessed to the brutal killing, attributing his actions to deep-seated hatred for his father. He admitted to using a hoe to murder and dismember his father before burying the remains.
The Police PRO stated that the investigation is ongoing and that Mizanmil Abubakar will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna for further investigation and legal proceedings.
