Gunmen Kill University Lecturers, Deputy Registrar, and Four Others in Taraba
In the early hours of Monday, gunmen attacked and killed six people, including a lecturer from Federal University Wukari and the Deputy Registrar of Taraba State School of Health Technology Takum, along the Takum/Wukari road.
The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed the incident. DSP Kwache Gambo, the Acting Public Relations Officer, verified the casualties to our correspondent. Among the victims was a secondary school principal recently transferred from Takum to Wukari Local Government.
Governor Agbu Kefas has strongly condemned the attack and promised that those responsible will face justice. In a statement from the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello, Governor Kefas expressed profound sorrow over the incident and called on security forces to intensify efforts to apprehend the attackers.
“The governor received the news of the attacks on innocent travelers with deep sadness. He condemned the violence and assured that the perpetrators will not evade justice. Governor Kefas reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to combating crime and ensuring safety in Taraba State.
