Emir Sanusi Expresses Readiness to Address Fulani Issues with Federal Government Support
Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano, has declared his readiness to tackle the Fulani crises in Nigeria, provided he has the full backing of the Federal Government. Speaking at his palace on Tuesday, Sanusi emphasized that resolving these issues would require the government’s commitment to utilize its resources and authority to implement his proposed solutions.
Sanusi, while addressing the leadership of Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria—a Fulani organization with members across all 36 states—acknowledged the hardships faced by the Fulani community, such as isolation and cattle rustling. He also noted that some Fulani individuals have been involved in criminal activities, affecting their community’s reputation.
The Emir proposed a collaborative approach with the Federal Government to address conflicts between Fulanis and farmers and to curb further criminal behavior. He offered his personal support to the government in fostering peace and improving conditions for the Fulani people and all Nigerians.
Ibrahim Buba-Jada, leader of the Fulani group, affirmed their support for Sanusi II, trusting in his dedication and leadership to enhance their well-being.
