Akpabio: DSS Enforces Security at National Assembly Amid Impeachment Rumors

This morning, the National Assembly resembles a fortified area as personnel from the Department of State Security (DSS) have taken control in response to rumors of an impending impeachment against Senate President Goodswill Akpabio.
DSS operatives have been deployed following reports of a potential move by some discontented Northern Senators who are allegedly dissatisfied with President Bola Tinubu, and are said to be reigniting previous efforts to remove Akpabio from his position.
Globally, legislative bodies typically maintain dedicated security teams to ensure order and safety within their premises. Additional security agencies are often present to safeguard lives and property, particularly when internal security is insufficient to handle potential disruptions.
This morning, OrderPaper noted that DSS personnel, dressed in dark suits and wearing sunglasses, have been stationed at various entry points from the main entrance to the secondary gate, securing all access points within the National Assembly grounds.
