Prince Abimbola Owoade Approved as New Alaafin of Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde has officially approved a new Alaafin of Oyo, following a thorough process of consultation and divination.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, it was announced that Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has been recommended by the Oyomesi and subsequently approved by the Oyo State Governor.
The announcement was confirmed by Hon. Ademola Ojo, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, who noted that this decision brings closure to the disputes that arose after the passing of the late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on April 22, 2022.
Hon. Ojo urged all Oyo State residents to celebrate this significant occasion and offer their support to the new Alaafin.
The Commissioner expressed hope that the reign of Prince Owoade will usher in peace, prosperity, and unity for the Oyo Kingdom.
