The president praised the governors for their leadership and commitment to fostering national unity, overcoming regional, ethnic, and political divides to drive Nigeria’s progress.
The recent consultation between the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and the Presidential Committee on Tax and Fiscal Policy is seen as a positive example of collaboration between the federal and state governments.
Special recognition was given to Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Governors’ Forum, for effectively rallying his colleagues to support these critical tax reforms aimed at revitalizing the economy and improving the country’s investment environment.
Tinubu also acknowledged the role of the Progressive Governors Forum, the Northern Governors Forum, and other groups in helping to resolve the issues surrounding the tax bills.
