APC Leaders Unite Behind Prince Thomas Ogungbangbe’s Senatorial Ambition

Prince Thomas Ogungbangbe, a senatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently held a consultation meeting with key party leaders in Ilesa. The meeting took place at the residence of Pa Odediran and was attended by notable political stakeholders from Ilesa and surrounding areas.

During the gathering, Pa Feg introduced Prince Ogungbangbe to the leaders, formally presenting him as an aspirant seeking the APC ticket for the Senate. He prayed for the success of Ogungbangbe’s ambition and urged all present to support him. Several leaders expressed appreciation for Ogungbangbe’s longstanding commitment to the party, especially his financial and moral support to party members in both Ilesa and Ife.

Felix Aboge commended Prince Ogungbangbe for his consistent support of the APC since 2005, highlighting his role in funding chairmanship and councillorship candidates over the years. He also emphasized his own commitment to backing Ogungbangbe’s senatorial ambition. Former Rector of Osun State College of Technology (OSCOTECH), Dr. Adegoke, was introduced by Pa Odediran and also lent his support.

In his address, Dr. Ogungbangbe shared details of his educational background, stating he attended primary and secondary school in Iragbiji and graduated from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN). He reaffirmed his intention to contest for the Senate seat and called for collective efforts from party stakeholders to make the vision a reality.

Ogungbangbe pledged that constituency allowances, if elected, would be transparently managed in collaboration with party leadership at the senatorial district level. He assured the gathering of his integrity, noting that he has never received any query throughout his professional career. He emphasized that his expertise in the oil and gas sector would be instrumental in increasing revenue for Osun State through federal government derivative schemes.

The senatorial hopeful promised not to disappoint the party and maintained that with the ticket and platform, he could accomplish much more for the state and the party.

In his remarks, Hon. Wale Adedoyin (Ilesa West) commended Ogungbangbe’s track record and urged all party leaders and aspirants to intensify their efforts in the lead-up to the 2026 gubernatorial election. He stressed the importance of unity and collective action.

Hon. Olawoye also praised Ogungbangbe’s contributions and prayed for the realization of his ambition. He encouraged him to trust in God, noting that while humans may disappoint, divine support remains steadfast.

A leader from Ilesa East expressed gratitude to Dr. Ogungbangbe and encouraged all aspirants to maintain a spirit of friendship and cooperation. Leader Odeyemi also justified the presence of state officers at the meeting, affirming their roles as leaders.

Prince Ogungbangbe reiterated his readiness to support the party in the forthcoming 2026 gubernatorial election and appealed for the support of the leaders at this crucial stage of his political journey. As a gesture of appreciation, he donated one million naira to the leaders.

In a closing note, Kunle Odeyemi called on APC media aides to exercise caution when commenting about party aspirants online. He urged collaboration, particularly with Mr. Olusesi, to ensure unity and focus as the party prepares for the 2026 elections.
