Faduri Oluwadare Joseph Questions Obedient Movement’s Trust in Peter Obi After Coalition with ADC and Politicians He Once Called the Enemy of Nigeria’s Progress

The political atmosphere in Nigeria has once again been stirred following recent developments involving Mr. Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate. Known for his strong support among young Nigerians who call themselves the “Obedients”, Obi’s decision to join a new political coalition that includes the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised questions across political circles and among his supporters.

According to information gathered from political observers and social media reactions, many believe the move contradicts the very principles that defined Obi’s campaign during the 2023 elections, a campaign largely built on transparency, accountability, and a clean break from the political establishment.
In a statement issued by Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, popularly known as Fadojoe, a former Labour Party presidential aspirant and the founder of Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, he expressed his disappointment and scepticism regarding Obi’s decision. Posting on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, @FAdojoe, he wrote:
> “If you call yourself obedient. How do you explain away the coalition of Mr. PETER OBI with the same set of people such as Atiku Abubakar, El-Rufai, Rotimi Amechi and others, who we agree destroyed our nation. Rolled our nation backwards 50 years and made life unbearable for ordinary Nigerians?
How can Mr Peter Obi explain the rationale of joining hands with the same people he ran against just 2 years back? How can Mr Peter claim to be different and not just like them looking for power by all means?
How can a man in 2 years join a campaign together with the very same set of people he labelled corrupt, incompetent, and incapable?
It must be that he is either lying to his followers or lying to himself. You must be dumb to be in a camp defending such a leader, cos he’s among them. Now we can all confirm it.
Power must change in 2027, a generational shift of power to the younger generation.”
