Man Arrested in Oyo for Allegedly Killing Brother Over Dream Claim

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Lateef Suleiman, for allegedly killing his elder brother in Sepeteri, Oyo State, after accusing him of shooting him in a dream.
Suleiman, a resident of Alegunlode Compound in Sepeteri, reportedly claimed that his 52-year-old brother, Mustapha Amidu, attacked him while he slept. Acting on that belief, he allegedly confronted his brother the following day.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, the incident was reported by one Badmus Yunisa. The police spokesperson stated that Suleiman approached the deceased while he was seated, picked up a heavy rock, struck him on the head, and fled the scene immediately afterward.
Amidu was rushed to Ileri Oluwa Hospital in Sepeteri, where he was later pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
Police officers from the Ago-Amodu Divisional Headquarters visited both the scene of the incident and the hospital as part of initial investigations. Suleiman was subsequently located and taken into custody.
The police confirmed that the suspect has confessed and is cooperating with investigators. The Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, has directed that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough probe.
The command assured members of the public that the case will be investigated comprehensively and that justice will be pursued in accordance with the law.
