APC Accuses Accord Party Members of Violent Attacks on Oyebamiji’s Wife’s Convoy, Members in Ede

– Osun APC Tasks Police To Effect Arrest, Investigation
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) has condemned the latest attacks on some members of the party by the Accord Party’s hoodlums in the territory of the state Governor Ademola Adeleke, who’s seeking re-election under the ruling party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
We have observed that within the last 24 hours, quite a number of the members and chieftains of our party had been attacked and severely injured in coordinated manner by the Accord Party’s hoodlums in the state.
For instance, Abideen Oyetunde, a member of our party in Sekona, Ede-South Local Government Council Area of the state, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday evening when he was attacked by the Accord Party’s political thugs.
Oyetunde was reportedly attacked at his residence in Sekona where he was brutally matcheted and shot at before managing to escape with severe head injuries and a gunshot wound.
Oyetunde who is on admission at an undisclosed hospital in Ede stated that the Accord Party’s attackers stormed his residence at about 6:00 pm armed with guns and matchers.
According to Oyetunde: “The Accord Party’s hoodlums invaded my residence with dangerous weapons to kill me. When they sighted me, Abbey popularly known as Monranmo, struck my head with a matchete. At a point, I became unconscious, and they probably believed that I was already dead. I regained consciousness when I got to the hospital.
Oyetunde stated further that during his attack, he was able to identify Taofiki, popularly known as Omo Baba Money, Ojo Jasper, Sodiki Saibu, Asimi Baraka and Alaga Mighty who are known members of the Accord Party in the area.
In a related incident on the same night, some notorious Accord Party political thugs led by  Kazeem Oriade and Wakeel Mojeed popularly known as Doki, attacked Taofeek Akanbi, who recently defected from the Accord Party to the APC at the Odo Eja area of Ede.
Akanbi was said to have been attacked at Access Point Lounge in Odo Eja area of Ede, the home town of Governor Adeleke. When the assailants could not locate their target at the lounge, they attempted to set the premises on fire. The fire was said to have been put off by the members of the staff before it could cause extensive damage.
Mojeed was reportedly convicted last year over a physical assault that resulted in the permanent loss of the right eye of a victim in Ede. He was sentenced to nine years imprisonment before he was miraculously freed by Governor Adeleke after spending  nine months out of his imprisonment term in the prison.
In another development, Dr, Shekinat Oyebamiji, the wife of the APC governorship candidate and the wife of the APC deputy governorship candidate, Princess Abimbola Adereti, escaped death by the whiskers at Alajue, Ede, hometown of Governor Adeleke, on Sunday, when their convoy was waylaid and attacked by some Accord Party’s hoodlums, when the duo carried their campaign train to the ancient town.
It was gathered that the Accord Party hoodlums involved in the attacks were Alaga Mighty, Imonmonran, Asimi Baraka, Sodiki Saibu, Taofiki Omo Baba Money, Ojo Jaspa, Solape Alata and Taiye Trouble.
We are appealing to the state commissioner of police to investigate and arrest the masterminds and the foot soldiers of the violent attacks as democracy cannot thrive in a violent environment.
It is now clear to the whole world how the Accord Party and its governorship candidate, Governor Adeleke, has militarized the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
It is disheartening that despite the fact that it is the Accord Party thugs that are unleashing terror on our members and supporters, it’s the governor and his campaign council that are fond of crying to the rooftop in order to misinform and subsequently misrepresent facts on the true state of security in the state.
We are imploring our members not to be distracted by the antics of the governor and his co-travellers but continue unhindered with the gospel of selling our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji(AMBO), to the good people of the state.
