APC CAMPAIGN TRAIN STORMS IWO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY AMID MASSIVE GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION

~ From Iwo to Ileogbo and Bode-Osi, 8,970 canvassers inaugurated as AMBO’s grassroots machinery gains unstoppable momentum ahead of the August poll.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train, on Saturday, 20th June 2026, berthed in Iwo Federal Constituency to a grand and electrifying reception as party faithful, stakeholders, and supporters thronged the ancient city of Iwo in celebration, accompanied by drums, songs, and overwhelming enthusiasm.
The ongoing inauguration of unit canvassers recorded impressive figures across the constituency:
i. Iwo Local Government – 5,100 canvassers
ii. Aiyedire Local Government – 2,010 canvassers
iii. Ola-Oluwa Local Government – 1,860 canvassers
This brings the total number of inaugurated canvassers to a remarkable 8,970, further consolidating the party’s formidable grassroots structure and readiness for victory.
Speaking at the event, Prince Dotun Babayemi expressed strong confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election. He assured that victory is certain, noting that the canvassers are fully prepared to deliver at the polls. He also pledged sustained support, structure, and necessary enablement to guarantee success.
The Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, conveyed royal greetings to His Imperial Majesty, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi,Telu I, and acknowledged the presence of dignitaries, party stalwarts, and loyal members. Addressing the canvassers, he commended their dedication and expressed absolute confidence in their capacity to secure overwhelming victory for the party’s candidate.
He emphasized the need for diligence, noting that the opposition candidate will not be on the ballot, and urged members to intensify efforts to harvest votes across all polling units. He further described the gathering as organic and a true reflection of genuine party strength, as opposed to artificially assembled crowds.
In his remarks, Comrade Festus Oyebade Olowogboyega engaged the audience on critical governance and development issues, highlighting perceived gaps in the current administration’s impact on Iwo Federal Constituency. The APC gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming turnout, particularly acknowledging the presence of women and grassroots mobilizers. At Bode-Osi, Hon. Kamorudeen Alao, the State Party Secretary, appealed to party faithful and canvassers to seize the opportunity to enthrone a people-oriented government. Prince Dotun Babayemi formally welcomed the gubernatorial candidate, his running mate Prince Benjamin Adereti, and members of the campaign council, urging all to give their utmost efforts while expressing faith that God will make it a success.

Hon. Oluwole Oke, reflecting on his tour across Aiyedire and Ola-Oluwa, lamented the state of infrastructure and public services, citing poor road conditions, under-equipped health centres, and inadequate educational staffing. He questioned the value delivered to the people under the current administration and called for decisive electoral change.
He further criticized what he described as mismanagement of public funds, citing significant expenditure claims without corresponding developmental impact, and reiterated the urgent need for a new direction in governance.
Highlighting employment opportunities, he urged youths to engage with federal government initiatives, noting that such avenues offer more realistic prospects for job creation. He encouraged young people to liaise with relevant committees and local government structures to maximize these opportunities.
The campaign train subsequently moved to Ileogbo in Aiyedire Local Government Area, where Hon. Wole Oke commended party members for their massive turnout and commitment to the AMBO project. He assured the masses that an AMBO-led administration would prioritize inclusive governance, catering to artisans, civil servants, farmers, traders, women, youth, and all demographics.
He also pledged that canvassers would receive adequate training and tools to effectively discharge their responsibilities, assuring them that their efforts would not be in vain.
