Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Benedict Olugboyega Alabi (BOA), has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, following his resounding victory in the recently concluded gubernatorial election.
Aiyedatiwa, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), triumphed with 366,781 votes, surpassing his nearest competitor, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117,845 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared Aiyedatiwa as the winner on the evening of November 17.
In his message of congratulations, Alabi, speaking from Osogbo shortly after the announcement, praised the people of Ondo State for their overwhelming support of the APC throughout the election campaign. He highlighted how this support had translated into a clear victory for Governor Aiyedatiwa.
Alabi further urged the people of Ondo to remain steadfast in their support for the APC and to keep faith in the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He emphasized that a leader’s role is to make decisions that benefit the broader population, a philosophy that is being exemplified in the current administration. Alabi expressed confidence that, in due time, the nation would begin to reap the rewards of these strategic decisions.
The former Deputy Governor also commended President Tinubu for championing democratic values in Nigeria. He noted that the outcome of the Ondo State election serves as a clear indicator of the growing trust in the current leadership at the national level.
Alabi also recognized the dedication of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), commending its officials for safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring that the true will of the people of Ondo was upheld.
In closing, Alabi called on Governor Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, to continue working diligently to deliver the dividends of democracy to every corner of Ondo State.
