JAMB Kicks Off Accreditation for CBT Centres Ahead of 2025 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially started the accreditation process for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

A statement from JAMB, signed by spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, emphasized the need for CBT centres to meet specific requirements to qualify for participation in the upcoming examination. This accreditation process is a vital first step in preparing for the UTME, and only centres that adhere to the necessary standards will be eligible to host the exam.

JAMB provided detailed instructions for new CBT centres wishing to take part in the 2025 UTME. These centres are required to first review the official requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT centre by visiting the provided link: https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Pdfs/CBT_centre_requirements.pdf. After reviewing the requirements, the centres must submit a formal letter of intent to participate, directed to the JAMB registrar through the zonal directors or state coordinators.

For existing CBT centres that were accredited for the 2024 UTME and had no operational issues, JAMB stated that they should register their interest via the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal.

The board also stressed the importance of the mandatory Autobot/Autotest, a technical evaluation that tests the readiness of the centres. All centres are required to complete this test before the physical accreditation visit.

According to JAMB, zonal and state offices will assist new centres in creating CMS Portal accounts to facilitate their registration. Only centres that successfully pass the Autobot/Autotest will be eligible for a physical accreditation visit, which is set for December.

Centres that fail to meet the required standards during the Autobot/Autotest will not be reconsidered, while those that pass the assessment will be approved for participation in the 2025 UTME.
