Dead Body of a Lady Dumped on Asaba Road After Visit To Man She Met On A Dating Site

The Delta State Police have expressed condolences to the family of 23-year-old Precious Yusuf, whose body was found along DLA Road near Falcon Club in Asaba on October 24.

According to SP Bright Edafe, spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, a distress call was received around 8:40 AM, prompting DPO CSP Rex Abiodun to lead officers to the scene.

Initial investigations revealed that Precious had informed a friend on October 22 that she was going to meet a male acquaintance she met on the iHappy dating site. She left home that day to meet him in Coka. The following morning, at approximately 7:30 AM, she called her friend to say she was heading home, but that was the last communication before her body was discovered the next day.

Edafe stated that the body has been taken to the morgue for an autopsy. Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Abaniwonda assured the public and the victim’s family that a thorough investigation is underway and that justice will be served.

He also urged young women to exercise caution when meeting people from dating websites and social media, emphasizing the importance of being mindful of their acquaintances.
