Famous Christian Music Director Jude ‘Ancestor’ Nnam Kidnapped in Anambra

Jude Nnam
Renowned Christian music composer, Jude Nnam, widely known as ‘Ancestor,’ has been abducted in Anambra State. Nnam, who serves as the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and is also a member of the National Liturgical Commission of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State.
Sources indicate that Nnam was in Anambra for a church-related event when the incident occurred. The news of his abduction was shared by Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Augustine Mario on his Facebook page, where he requested prayers for Nnam’s safety and swift release.
“Please keep Sir Dr. Jude Nnam (Ancestor) in your prayers. He was reportedly kidnapped yesterday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State,” Fr. Mario wrote. “Sir Jude is the CAN National Music Director and a member of the National Liturgical Commission, CSN. May God grant him safety and a quick release. Amen.”
Another Catholic priest also expressed his disbelief and frustration over the situation, commenting on social media: “If this is true, then it is a huge shame. I’m simply tired of this unfortunate space called Nigeria. Why this type of pain and frustration now? Anyway, I just hope this isn’t true. Jude Nnam Ancestor! It is well. Fada Mentor.”
Nnam, a celebrated figure in the Christian music community, had recently marked his 50th birthday and had also participated in the ‘Unusual Praise 2024’ event held at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity in Onitsha just the previous week.
As of now, there has been no official statement from authorities regarding his whereabouts or any progress on his case.
