Senator Oluremi Tinubu

Senator. Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, has provided financial support to 1,000 low-income women in Benue through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Economic Programme. Each woman received N50,000 to boost their small-scale businesses.

In a ceremony held in Makurdi, Mrs. Tinubu, represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Anna Itodo, highlighted her awareness of the difficulties faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), particularly by petty traders who are crucial to the local economy.

The programme, which is expected to cost over N1.8 billion, aims to help female petty traders overcome business challenges, expand their ventures, generate more employment, and enhance economic contributions.

Governor Hyacinth Alia, represented by his deputy, Dr. Sam Ode, praised the women of Benue for their support and votes, expressing gratitude for their ongoing backing of his administration.
