Man in Ibadan Court, for Stealing Pot of Soup

A 27-year-old man, Adewale Ogundeji, appeared before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday, facing charges of housebreaking and theft.
Ogundeji, whose address was not disclosed, was accused of stealing a pot of soup along with other valuables. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Anthony Igori, informed the court that the alleged offences occurred on July 6 at around 1:30 p.m. at Balogun Road, Oke Ibadan, near Oje market. Ogundeji is accused of breaking into the home of Mrs. Tobiyat Yusuf and stealing her pot of soup, N20,000 in cash, an MP3 player, and a memory card, among other items.
These actions, according to Igori, violated Sections 411 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Olaolu Olanipekun granted Ogundeji bail set at N100,000, with one surety required in the same amount. The case was adjourned until July 25 for further hearing.
