Police Arrest Officer Caught in Viral Video Abusing Naira Currency

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the detention of one of its officers who was seen in a viral video involved in the abuse of Nigeria’s local currency, the naira.
According to FIRST CLASS GISTS, the video shows the officer alongside a businessman, identified only as Chief Okoya, engaging in the inappropriate handling of the currency.
The police force issued a brief statement on its official Facebook page on Friday, announcing that the officer has been identified and taken into custody for further disciplinary action.
The statement reads, “The policeman featured in the recent viral video, where the naira was being abused alongside Chief Okoya and his associates, has been identified and detained for necessary disciplinary measures. The officer’s actions have been condemned as unethical, and we remain committed to upholding the integrity, credibility, and core values of the police force.”
As of now, it remains unclear whether Chief Okoya, the main individual involved, has been apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
