Police Detain Verydarkman Over Defamation Charges

On Sunday, Nigerian police apprehended Martin Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, at his residence in Abuja. The arrest’s specific cause remains undisclosed; however, his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has linked it to a recent exposé Otse posted on X.com.
Adeyanju stated that CP Igwe ordered Otse’s arrest, accusing him of defaming an individual allegedly involved in defrauding a Nigerian living abroad.
Adeyanju commented, “Our client, #thatverydarkman, was arrested by the police under CP Igwe’s directive for exposing a person accused of scamming a Nigerian abroad. Instead of pursuing the alleged scammer, the police detained VDM on defamation charges.”
