See the Number of Persons that Died In Multiple Road Crashes Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday evening along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near Kara Bridge, claiming the lives of four individuals and leaving one person injured. The crash, which happened around 7:35 p.m., involved an Isuzu mini truck (registration number T1079L), a Toyota Camry (registration number EPE200GK), a Honda Accord, and a BUA trailer that lacked a registration number.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident on Friday. According to her, the exact number of people involved in the accident is yet to be determined.
The accident was reportedly caused by brake failure, which resulted in one of the vehicles losing control and crashing into another vehicle from behind.
Okpe provided further details, stating, “The crash, involving four vehicles, occurred around 19:35 hours near Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. While the number of people involved is still being determined, one male adult sustained injuries, and four individuals—one male and three females—lost their lives in the accident.”
The injured victim was transported to AZ Zonecare Hospital in Magboro for treatment. The body of one of the deceased was taken to Real Divine Hospital morgue in Ibafo, while the families of the other three deceased victims took custody of their remains.
Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin extended his condolences to the families of the victims and urged motorists to adhere to safe driving practices, including avoiding excessive speed and ensuring regular vehicle maintenance to prevent such tragedies.
