Police in Lagos State have apprehended three individuals for allegedly possessing human body parts, specifically tongues. The suspects, identified as 30-year-old Isah Amohullahi and 32-year-old Abubakar Isah, were detained during a routine stop-and-search operation on Otedola Bridge on October 15, 2024.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests on Tuesday, stating that the suspects were discovered with the body parts while traveling in a taxi. Further investigation led to the arrest of a third individual, Gbolahan Temidayo, at Oyingbo Market, who is believed to have sold the tongues to the suspects.
Hundeyin noted that the investigation is ongoing at the command headquarters, emphasizing that if the suspects are found guilty, they will face charges in court.
