Two killed in Enugu, as Police Conduct Raid on Alleged IPOB/ESN Hideout,
In a recent operation, police officers from the Igbo-Etiti Division of the Enugu State Command, along with the Neighborhood Watch Group, raided a suspected IPOB/ESN camp located in a forested area of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Enugu State. The raid, which took place at 2 a.m. yesterday, was prompted by an intelligence report.
According to Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, the suspects began shooting at the police as soon as they were spotted. The officers responded with superior firepower, causing the suspects to flee. Two bodies were later found in the forest, alongside an AK-47 rifle, four magazines containing 75 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, and a Beretta pistol loaded with eight rounds of .9 mm ammunition.
Additionally, the police recovered two motorcycles, a KC Sanya and a Honda Today, a GTB ATM card, N2,600.00 in cash, and several raw food items. The search for other suspects who escaped is on
going.
